If there’s one thing I LOVE… its sweat. Sounds weird and gross, right? But seriously.. whats better than a drenched shirt after a killer workout. At least for me, i’m usually disappointed if I didn’t sweat that much during a workout.. I judge the intensity of my work based on my sweat output. Any of you guys do the same?
The other day I was sitting in my living room… I had just put Hayes down for bed and was in the living room with Stephen and Harper. I had told myself earlier in the day that I was going to do my running workout (.25 mile repeats with 2 minute rest in between.) I have a 10 mile race coming up and am trying to get serious about the training. It had been SUCH a long day, Hayes was coming down with a cold.. Harper had swim lessons after school.. literally the LAST thing I wanted to do was put my running shoes on and walk out the door. But dedication trumped motivation and out I went.
The second I picked my playlist and ran my first quarter mile my mood changed. By the end of my 25 minute intervals workout I was drenched. I was in a MUCH better mood, it was like I literally ran the stress of my day away.. and I immediately thought “you dont regret sweat.” I posted about it on my instagram stories and had a couple people message me saying they totally agreed… you NEVER regret a good workout… you only regret the workouts you dont do.
Are there going to be times when you don’t want to work out? Uh yyyyeah… but the hardest part is lacing up your shoes and walking out the door. Once you’re out there, the rest is easy. Don’t let your mind talk you out of it.
I’d love for you guys to keep in mind that YOU DONT REGRET SWEAT when you lack motivation, i’d love for it to be a reminder to work hard for what you want, and that you always feel better after a great sweat session.
I’d also love to hear what your FAVORITE ways to sweat are? It’s so hard for me to pick.. but if I could ONLY pick one it would be a great hiit/lifting session!!
